SAMARTH Admission Portal – Assam College Admission Portal
The Assam State Higher Education Admission Portal - 2023 is being introduced for admission into all UG Programmes in Assam State Universities for academic session 2023-24 under the Department of Higher Education Assam. The Assam State Higher Education Admission Portal will provide a common platform and equal opportunities to candidates across the state, especially those from rural and other remote areas and help establish better connect with the Universities. A single portal will enable the Candidates to cover a wide outreach and be part of the admissions process to Assam State Universities.
SAMARTH Admission Portal
The Government of Assam has launched a common online admission portal called SAMARTH to streamline the admission process for undergraduate programs in all higher education institutes in the state. The portal will facilitate the online admission process for BA, BCom, BSc, and other courses in accordance with the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Samarth is an initiative of the Ministry of Education that was launched in 2019 under the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT)-II (now NMEICT-III). The aim of the initiative is to enable universities and higher education institutions (HEIs) through a digital framework for planning, management, delivery, and monitoring of services for students, staff, and other stakeholders. Under the project, HEIs are provided with a fully managed, cloud-based, comprehensive enterprise resource planning (ERP) system that is customized for HEIs in the country.

The launch of the SAMARTH admission portal is a significant step towards streamlining the admission process for undergraduate programs in Assam. The portal will make it easier for students to apply for admission to the courses of their choice, and it will also help to reduce the administrative burden on HEIs.

To complete their application, students must upload the following files in the appropriate sizes and formats.

Important note:
Students can apply for admission to a maximum of 10 options (for example, same Major in 10 Colleges or 10 different Majors in one College or 10 different Major in 10 different Colleges). In
case his/her application is selected in more than one college in the first merit list, the student will have to opt for only one college/option to process the admission and the selection to the remaining colleges/option appearing in the first Merit list will lapse. If they get selected in the second merit list for any remaining colleges/option in which they were not selected in the first merit list, then they will have the option to cancel the admission taken under the first merit list and then select one of the colleges/option out of the ones appearing in the second merit list.The same will be the case with the third merit list.
Thereafter, depending on the vacancy, spot admission can be done at the discretion of the admission committee of the college.
How to Apply for Samarth UG Admission?
The Government of Assam has abolished the old admission process for undergraduate (UG) admissions starting from the current academic session. All students who have passed the Higher Secondary (HS) final examination must now apply online through the Samarth Portal for bachelor's degree courses. After the online application process is completed, students can enroll in their preferred college based on the merit list. The Samarth online admission process is explained below.

Merit List
The merit list will be published on the Samarth Portal website. Students will be admitted to their preferred college based on their rank in the merit list.
Free Admission : fee waiver Scheme
The students who meet the free admission scheme need to apply through Samarth Portal to avail of the fee waiver. Candidates belonging to the economically weaker family will be eligible for free admission. Although the candidates need to provide the Income Certificate and other related documents for free admission.
