The Anundoram Borooah Award Scheme is a prestigious initiative by the Government of Assam, aimed at encouraging and rewarding meritorious students who have excelled in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination. Instituted in memory of the renowned Assamese educationist and freedom fighter, Anundoram Borooah, this scheme seeks to promote academic excellence, motivate young minds, and empower the future leaders of Assam.
Anundoram Borooah Award 2024
Govt. of Assam has started the online application process for Anundoram Borooah Cash Award Scheme (ARBAS) 2024 or ARBAS 2024. Eligible candidates may apply online for ARBAS 2024 Award at official Bidyarthi or Madhyamik portals.
Anundoram Borooah Award Scheme is instituted in the honour of Late Anundoram Borooah who was the 4th Indian (and the 1st Assamese) to join the prestigious ICS and the 1st Indian to be appointed as Deputy Commissioner.
This award was launched by the Govt. of Assam in the year 2005 with the sole aim of motivating and inspiring the students for better performance and to have first-hand experience with Information and Communication Technology.

Eligibility Criteria of ARBAS
Qualification & Percentage: Students who have secured Star Marks or 75% or more in the HSLC Examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam are eligible to apply for this scheme.
Passing Year: The student has to qualify for the qualifying examination with the mentioned percentage in 2024.
Name of Board: Only those students who have passed their qualifying examination from the Board of Secondary Education, Assam are eligible to submit applications for this scheme.
This year, the government has decided to transfer Rs.15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand Only) to the bank account of every eligible student.
