Eligibility Criteria of APSC Recruitment

Citizenship & Residentship

Candidate must be an Indian Citizen as defined in Articles 5–8 of the Constitution of India.
Candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.
Proof of residency: PRC issued in Assam / Employment Exchange Registration Certificate.

Educational Qualification

Minimum: Class VIII passed
Maximum: HSSLC/Class 12 passed
Not Eligible: Candidates with higher educational qualification than HSSLC/XII.
Must upload a self-declaration (Annexure-I) confirming maximum qualification.

Age Limit (as on 01/01/2025)

Minimum Age: 18 years
Maximum Age: 40 years

Category-wise Relaxation:

SC/ST: 5 years (up to 45 years)
OBC/MOBC/Tea Tribes & Adivasi: 3 years (up to 43 years)
PwBD: 10 years (up to 50 years)

As per Govt. Notification, application fee is NIL. However, under the Digital India initiative, a processing fee of Rs. 47.20/- will be charged across all categories.

Phase I – Screening Test (OMR Based)

Mode: OMR, Multiple Choice Questions
Duration: 2 Hours
Total Marks: 100

Syllabus Distribution:

Arithmetic (Class VI–VIII level): 20 Marks
General Knowledge (Assam specific): 20 Marks
Reasoning: 20 Marks
Social Science: 20 Marks
General Science: 10 Marks
Elementary English: 10 Marks

Phase II – Interview

Candidates shortlisted in Phase I will be called for interview in the ratio of 1:5 (as per reservation).
