Educational Qualification: A candidate must have Higher Secondary or Class XII passed from any Government recognized Board/Council.

Other Criteria of APSC Recruitment
Citizenship: Candidates must be Indian Citizens as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.
Residentship:
(i) The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.
(ii) The candidate must produce PRC issued in Assam for educational purpose/ Employment Exchange Registration certificate as proof of residency along with the application form.
Age Relaxation: The category-wise age relaxation is as mentioned below.
# SC: 5 years
# ST: 5 years
# OBC/ MOBC: 3 years
# PwBD: 10 years
Small Family Norms: The candidates have to submit a declaration regarding “The Small Family Norms” in Form-A at the time of applying for the post.
Computer Proficiency:
a) Candidates must have good working knowledge of office productivity software tools (independent of any operating system i.e. MS Windows, Linux, Mac etc.) such as —
i) Word Processor,
ii) Spreadsheet,
iii) Presentation Graphics,
iv) Content of Database,
v) Internet and
vi) E-Mail.
b) Candidates must possess a minimum 6 (six) months completed diploma/ certificate in computer proficiency, from a Govt. of Assam recognized institution (no breaks in qualification admissible) and must have computing knowledge in Assamese and English Language.
Employment Exchange:
The name of the candidate must be registered in any Employment Exchange of Assam and the details of the registration are to be furnished in the application Form with a copy of the employment Registration Card.

Selection Process of APSC Recruitment
The selection process will consist of two phases.
1. Screening Test (OMR Based) of 100 Marks and
2. Computer Practical Test (including Speed Test) of 100 marks (Phase-II).
Phase I
Topic-wise syllabus for Screening Test is as under.

Phase II
Against each vacancy 04 candidates will be short listed on the basis of the marks obtained in the Screening Test. The short listed candidates shall have to appear in the Computer Proficiency Practical Test.
