Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has issued a notification for the recruitment of 26 Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) Posts under the Commissionerate of Transport, Assam under Transport Department, Assam.

Name of post: Motor Vehicle Inspector

No of posts: 26 [UR: 11, OBC/ MOBC: 5, SC: 2, STP: 4, STH: 1, EWS: 3]

Pay Details:

Pay Scale Rs. 22000/ to 97000/- 

Grade Pay Rs.9400/-

Age Limit:

Minimum Age: 21 years.

Maximum Age: 38 years.

The upper age limit is relaxable:

1) By 5 years for SC/ST candidates, i.e. upto 43 years.

2) By 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates i.e. upto 41 years as per Govt. Notification No. ABP. 6/2016/9 dated Dispur the 25th April 2018.

3) The age limit of the candidates will be calculated on the basis of the Matriculation/HSLC Admit Card or Pass Certificate issued by a recognized Central/State Board/Council and no other documents shall be accepted.

Eligibility Criteria of Transport Department, Assam

Education Qualification:

Candidates must have H.S.S.L.C. passed with 3 years Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized Board / University / Institution.

Eligibility Criteria:

1) The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.

2) The candidate must produce PRC issued in Assam for educational purpose as a proof of

residency along with the Application Form.

                                                                   OR

3) The candidate must produce valid registration certificate of Employment Exchange in the

State of Assam along with the Application Form.

Physical Fitness:

1) A candidate should have sound health, both mentally & physically and should be free from

any organic defect bodily infirmity likely to interfere with efficient performance of his duties.

2) A candidate is required to undergo medical examination before appointment to the service.

General/EWS Application Fee Rs.285.40/-

SC/ ST/ OBC/ MOBC Application Fee Rs. 185.40/-

BPL/ PWBD Application Fee Rs.35.40/-
